Hallo Hallo, directed by Rafi-Mecartin, takes the viewer through a flight of wit and humour. Mohanlal teams up with Jagathy Sreekumar in a rollicking comedy, reminding one of his superhits of the Eighties. The film is scripted by the dir ectors themselves. Lawyer Sivaraman (Mohanlal) is a slaphappy person who enjoys his drink. He has hit the bottle due to problems with his parents and younger brother. Sivaraman believes they were responsible for his lover’s death. He does not attend courts; instead, he “practises” in the bar with drinks. For company, he has Chandy Kunju (Jagathy Sreekumar), his confidant, who drops him home every night on a scooter with a side-car. Their revelry provides some hilarious moments. Sivaraman knows all the bars in town. To him the bar is a signpost to locate any house. One day, he receives a distress call on his mobile from one Parvathy (Parvathy Milton) who has been abducted by goons. Parvathy is the daughter of Bada Saab (Madhu). He rescues her only to find that someone in the family wants to do away with her to get her share of the property. Sivaraman provides her temporary shelter. But, now Sivaraman’s life takes a curious turn. Mohanlal and Jagathy Sreekumar essay their roles comfortably, with grace. The title song ‘Hallo’ sung by Vidhu Pratap and Swetha stands out. The lyrics by Vayalar Sarathchandra Varma. G. Jayakumar
