LONDON: Indian doctor Sabeel Ahmed (26), charged over last month’s attempted bombings in London and Glasgow, was on Monday produced in a court and remanded to custody till August 13. He appeared in the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court briefly only to confirm his name, address and date of birth. His solicitor Nadeem Afzal told the court that Dr. Ahmed intended to plead not guilty. According to the charge sheet, Dr. Ahmed, who hailed from Bangalore, had information which he “knew or believed may be of material assistance in preventing the commission by another [person] of an act of terrorism.”
