Coimbatore: Forest officials of Coimbatore have arrested Duraiswamy (50), a farmer living at Perur, 10 km south of Coimbatore, on charges of poisoning a panther to death. According to the officials, a panther was poisoned to death on June 26 while a carcass of a cow was also found near the body. The police have registered a case and the probe was on. A team led by District Forest Official, Anwardeen, and range officer, Soundarajan, on Wednesday arrested the farmer.
