Girijan students stage dharna

VISAKHAPATNAM: The District Administration on Wednesday assured the Girijan students staying at the Tribal Welfare hostel opposite Government Polytechnic here that all their problems would be solved by August 1.

This assurance came after the students from Visakhapatnam and other districts who are studying various in the local colleges, staged a dharna from around 11 p.m. on Tuesday till the wee hours of Wednesday at Siripuram junction demanding provision of basic amenities in their hostel.A large number of them marched from their hostel to represent their grievance to the Collector and commenced a sit in at the Siripuram junction.

The District Administration assured the students that immediately a room would be made available to the students near Marripalem and additional accommodation would be made available within a few days.
