Kakinada: East Godavari Collector M. Subrahmanyam conducted surprise checks at the rythu bazar and also at Government General Hospital on Thursday.

He was unhappy over the poor sanitation at the bazar and asked the estate officer to liaison with municipal authorities and ensure that garbage was cleared daily.

He also wanted display the price list of various vegetables prominently and adherence to the stipulated rates.

He expressed satisfaction over the sale of onion at Rs.7 a kg and wanted FP shop dealers association and the millers association to improve the quality of rice being made available through their stalls in the bazar.

Telephone booths

He ordered for removal of the telephone booths that were blocking the entrance at the bazar and directed officials to take steps for providing parking place there.

At the hospital, the Collector pulled up the superintendent for allowing the RMOs to reside outside the hospital leaving the quarters vacant.
