Free eye camp

Geethanjalee Matriculation and Higher Secondary School organised a free eye camp in association with Lotus Eye Care Hospital. Selva K.Sundaramoorthy, Chairman of the hospital spoke to the students on the importance of eye sight and nutrition. Bernadette Ravikumar, principal of the school, welcomed the gathering.

Council assumes office

The student council of APG Matriculation School assumed office after the investiture ceremony that was held recently. Rani Subramaniam, School Correspondent, distributed badges to the council members.

Anniversary celebrated

Gandhi Matriculation School, Sirumugai, celebrated Kamarajar’s birthday. School Correspondent, N.C.Samraj, garlanded the portrait of Kamarajar and inaugurated the ceremony. Various competitions were organised that included Tamil and English elocution, fancy dress and poetry writing competition

Students of Class XI and XII also staged a drama on the life of Kamarajar.

Competitions held

N.M.Matriculation School celebrated Kamarajar’s birthday with various competitions for the students.

Parents of the students also participated.

Yoga instructor, P.Tamilarasan, read out the poem he had penned on Kamarajar. Drawing instructor, Koteshwaran, delivered a lecture on Kamarajar.

Communication skills

The Academy for Communicative English, Bangalore, has tied up with the Al-Ameen Group of Insitutions for strengthening communication skills in children. Director of the organisation, Mr.Floyd, said the course would be useful for the students in earning a good career.

Sports day

The Annual sports day of Cluny Matriculation HSS, Salem, has given opportunities to a lot of students to display their sporting talents. The event, inaugurated by Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S. Arumugam, was celebrated on the theme of Green Earth this year. The drill displays titled Birds of Paradise, Reaping the Rewards, Make over and Robust Red Indians kept the audience under a spell.

Teachers felicitated

Teachers of Sri Vidhya Bharathi Matriculation HSS, Salem, who have helped the school achieve cent percent pass in the matriculation and higher secondary examinations, were felicitated at function recently. Sri Sarada College for Women Principal R. Rajeswari was the chief guest. M. Bharath Arun was installed as the school pupil leader.

Learning creativity

The Kindergarten section of Kongunadu Matriculation School, Namakkal, has introduced a novel method to improve the creative skill of the children. The children are given a colour theme on every Friday and allowed to decorate their classrooms on their own based on the theme.
