KAKINADA: The agitation for starting the work on the Kakinada-Pithapuram railway line would be revived involving all sections of people, founder of the Passengers’ Association S. S. Krishnaji said here on Sunday. Addressing a press conference, he recalled his attempt for an indefinite fast last year on the issue, which had been hanging fire for the last 60 years, and how he gave up the fast on an assurance from Union Minister of State for Defence M. M. Pallamraju. Mr. Krishnaji said he had filed a writ in the Andhra Pradesh High Court last year for restraining the State Government from allotting the land between Kakinda and Pithapuram to Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and a favourable reply came from the East Godavari district Collector. Secretary of the association Majety Jaganmohan Rao also spoke.
