Greetings for Pratibha

Mayor Mallika Begum and her predecessor Tadi Sakuntala, on Monday, were stumped by the poor response from women corporators for their plan to send greetings to the first woman President of the country, Pratibha Patil. Only four corporators other than Ms. Begum, Ms. Sakuntala and Deputy Mayor Anne Prasanna turned up for the occasion.

All the 21 women corporators in the general body of the VMC were asked to be present at the Mayor’s chamber to sign a greeting to the president-elect. Only M.V. Ratna Bindu, Veeramachaneni Lalitha, Afreena Sultana and Pilli Lakshmi Tulasi dutifully turned up.
