HYDERABAD: The luncheon meeting of Congress MLAs, P. Janardhan Reddy and M. Sasidhar Reddy, with Higher Education Minister D. Srinivas on Tuesday had its echo in the lobbies of the Assembly on Wednesday. To a mediaperson’s query on who the man in the news was, pat came the reply from the former PCC chief and former Minister, M. Satyanarayana Rao: “D. Srinivas.” But Mr. Srinivas, who was passing by, felt otherwise. “You are the one always in the news. I am not.” Another question followed for Mr. Srinivas: “Why don’t you invite us for lunch or dinner.” The prompt response from Mr. Srinivas’s response was “why not? Just let me know when you want to come?” Explanation
When some media persons too followed suit, Mr. Srinivas said “Look, it was just a chance meeting. Please don’t read too much into it. Mr. Janardhan Reddy and Mr. Sashidhar Reddy wanted to talk to me and I casually asked them to come over for breakfast. With the Assembly in session, it was not possible, therefore they joined me for lunch.” Mr. Srinivas said the two MLAs wanted to share their thoughts with him and invited him to a meeting and he agreed.
