Sangareddy MLA’s aide in ACB net

Simultaneous raids conducted at six places



Search is on: ACB sleuths raiding the residence of Sangareddy legislator’s personal assistant Rajender in Santhinagar, Sangareddy, on Wednesday.

Sangareddy: Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted raids on the residence of M.Rajender, a senior assistant in the Medak District Medical and Health Office and now personal assistant of local legislator T.Jayaprakash Reddy on deputation, and found assets not commensurate with his known sources of income.

The team consisting of 10 ACB officers drawn from Hyderabad and Nizamabad range and local police conducted raids at six places, including his mother’s place in Jogipet, simultaneously. The raids, which began early in the morning, lasted till 2 p.m.

A.R.Srinivas, SP of ACB, told The Hindu that disproportionate assets worth Rs. 45 lakh were found at his residence in Shantinagar.

Assets found

The ACB found eight plots in his name in the town, one two-storeyed building, 2.2 acres of agricultural land, 31 tolas of gold, and 1 kg of silver and Rs. 42,000 in cash.

Before he was arrested,

Rajender told reporters that the raid was part of ‘political

vendetta’ of people working against the local legislator.

He said that he belonged to a well-to-do family and had proof of the assets that he had earned during 21 years of Government service. He was on deputation as personal secretary to the MLA.
