HYDERABAD: The Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) has called off its proposed Chalo Assembly protest on Wednesday following the Government’s positive response to its demands, MRPS founder president Manda Krishna Madiga said. Addressing the MRPS activists after holding talks with Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Mr. Krishna said the Chief Minister had assured to insist on lowering the time limit of Usha Mehra Commission to three months, during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to the Andhra Pradesh on July 31 in the presence of the MRPS president. It has decided to chalk out its future course of action to mount pressure on the Government for categorisation of scheduled castes on August 1.
