BANGALORE: BEML, Mysore staged a valaiant fightback to beat Kanaka, Kolar 76-73 and booked its spot in the quarterfinals of the State ‘B’ division basketball championship for men here at Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Friday. It was Kanaka, which held the whip hand in the first half racing to a 41-26 lead with Ramakrishna finding the rival hoop at regular intervals. BEML put up a strong zone defence and with good efforts from forwards Ramakant (15 ) and Jayanth (11) forged ahead in the last quarter and held on to snatch an exciting win.
