Aswin Gokul to meet Unnikrishnan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

Aswin Gokul of Kollam will meet local boy M. Unnikrishnan (NKMTTC) in the final in the non medallist section of the N. Krishnamoorthy memorial all-Kerala open prize money table tennis tournament at the YMCA hall here on Thursday.

In the semifinals, Aswin Gokul defeated Priyanka P.S. Nair (NKMTTC) 6-11, 11-8, 11-6, 14-16, 11-8 while M. Unnikrishnan (NKMTTC) made short work of Antony Joy (Don Bosco) 18-16, 9-11, 14-12, 11-6.

P. Adarsh (Tvm) and Anju K. Thomas (Tvm) have been given the top billing in the men’s and women’s sections respectively.

G. Sundar (Alp) and Adheena K. Lathif (HRC) were the top seeds in youth sections. In junior section, Vishnu Narayanan (Alp) and Adheena K. Lathif (HRC) were the top seeds.
