Chandra stuns Guru

VIJAYAWADA: Unseeded Chandra Kumar (APBA) ousted fifth seed Guru Prasad Teja of Guntur 21-12, 21-11 in the first round of the AP State (u-13) badminton championship for boys and girls held at G. Mamidada near Kakinada on Friday, according to information reaching here.

ACA grant

The Andhra Cricket Association has granted a sum of Rs. 5 lakh to all the 13 affiliated districts for the development of the game, according to ACA secretary V. Chamundeeswaranath. The cheques were handed over to the district secretaries on July 21. — Sports Reporter
