AVC College of Engg. wins

THANJAVUR: AVC College of Engineering defeated Anjalaiammal Mahalingam Engineering College 2-1 to win the women’s title at the Anna University inter-collegiate (zone VIII) badminton tournament here on Friday.

The results:

Women: Final: AVC CE bt Anjalaiammal Mahalingam EC 2-1 (Krithika bt Aarthi 21-16, 21-18; Christina lost to Hemalatha 18-21, 14-21; Christina & Krithika bt Aarthi & Diana 21-11, 19-21, 21-17). Third place: Per iyar Maniammai CTW bt EGS Pillai CE 2-1 (Sivasankari bt Aarthi 21-18, 21-10; Janani lost to Kanniga 16-21, 21-18, 19-21; Mythili & Sivasankari bt Aarthi & Kanniga 21-14, 21-17).
