ADILABAD: Adilabad Superintendent of Police, Anil Kumar on Friday urged people not to target RTC buses during agitations for the simple reason that the buses were public property. He said RTC buses were maintained only out of public funds and damaging those served little purpose. As the chief guest at the platinum jubilee celebrations of the APSRTC here, he lauded the Corporation for its orientation towards service of the general public. He said the concessions in fares for physically handicapped and students were an example of the Corporation’s service motto. He also urged RTC drivers to take adequate care while driving, in order to reduce road accidents. Largest fleet
RTC Adilabad Regional Manager, R. Nagaraju said the RTC had even entered Guiness Book of World Records for maintaining the largest fleet of buses. He said during recent times, the Corporation has introduced reforms and as a part of the programme was training employees on various aspects. Mr. Anil Kumar gave away prizes and awards to students who won in literary and cultural competitions. Staffers who were best in their respective categories were also honoured. Deputy Chief Traffic Manager K. Rajendra Prasad, K. Adisesu, Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer and U. Somasekara Reddy, Depot Manager Adilabad were among those who participated in the programme.
