Singapore, Valencia on F-1 calendar

PARIS: Singapore and Valencia are the new additions to the Formula One calendar for 2008.

World motor sport’s governing body — FIA — added an extra Grand Prix for a total of 18 races, with the only race in the United States — in Indianapolis — off the list for the first time in eight years.

Valencia, Spain, will host the European Grand Prix on a street circuit on August 24, subject to approval. Singapore will also stage a street race on September 28 — possibly at night — subject to circuit approval.
