Harish Rao objects to carrying of flags by TDP, Left party activists
Sangareddy: The all-party rally and dharna in protest against the police firing in Mudigonda village brought to the fore deep differences between the Telangana Rastra Samithi and the Telugu Desam resulting in the TRS legislators and an MLC walking away from the dharna. Trouble started with TRS Siddipet legislator T. Harish Rao objected to party flags in the rally particularly, those of the TDP, as there were no flag bearers from his party. However, activists of the TDP, CPI (M) and the CPI rejected the suggestion and decided to carry flags throughout the rally right from the Inspection Bungalow to the old bus stand. TRS district convener Padma Devender Reddy and MLC R. Satyanarayana participated in the rally up to a distance and then simply walked away. However, TDP district president Mainampalli Hanmantha Rao, CPI (M) district secretary Chukka Ramulu and CPI district secretary Prakash Rao continued the rally till Ambedkar Statue. Effigy burnt
The protestors burned the effigy of Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Addressing the rally, the leaders termed the State Government anti-poor and anti-farmer. Chukka Ramulu holding the State Government responsible for the firing in Khammam district said the agitation would not stop till the Government implements the Koneru Committee recommendations.
