Panchayat workers plan agitation

Kakinada: The district Panchayat Workers’ Union at its general body meeting here on Sunday resolved to take up phased agitational programme to get the problems of panchayat workers, including sweepers and scavengers solved.

The meeting appealed to the government to release specials grant towards payment of wages and pensions to workers.

By a resolution, it opposed the contract system and called upon the union members to stage a dharna in front of the Collectorate on August 6.
