BEML meets Young Orions
BANGALORE: Bharat Earth Movers Limited (Mysore) will lock horns with Young Orions for the M.C. Srinivasa Memorial Trophy, the symbol of supremacy for the ‘B’ division honours in the State basketball league.
At the Sree Kanteerava Stadium outdoor courts here on Sunday, BEML (Mysore) downed Bharath Sports Union 52-30 while Young Orions proved too good for Orions SC 64-39.
Young Orions in fact were a point in arrears at the halfway mark against Orions before pulling away with some telling conversions in the third and fourth quarters with Sriram and Anirudh doing the bulk of the scoring.
Suhas with his uncanny shooting kept Orions in the hunt in the first two sessions.
The results: Semifinals: BEML (Mysore) 52 (Supradeep 20, Keshava 12) bt Bharath Sports Union 30; Young Orions 64 (Sriram 24, Anirudh 13) bt Orions SC 39 (Suhas 20, Aravind 11).

Easy win for MEG Boys
Muthappa and Bony Marshal struck a brace each as MEG Boys trounced Kavery HC 6-0 in a State ‘C’ division hockey league match at the KSHA Stadium here on Sunday. Sushwal Singh and Muthanna also scored for the victors.
