Rajapalayam: G.K. Motors Hockey Club, Madurai lifted the Thalaimalai Venniammal memorial Trophy defeating City Police, Chennai 5-3 in the final of the third annual State-level hockey tournament organised by Best Friends Hockey Club at Government HSS ground, Rajapalayam on Sunday. Ramdoss, who scored three goals, gave the lead for the G.K. Motors in the fourth minute. But City Police scored the equaliser in the 8th minute through Dominic. G.K. Motors scored three more through A.G. Kannan (20th), Ramdoss (24th) and Ramesh (32nd) for a 4-1 lead at half time. In the second half Police fought back and scored two goals through Joseph (36th) and Muthupandi (42nd) to reduce the lead to 4-3. Ramdoss the scored his third goal in the 48th minute for a 5-3 victory for G.K. Motors. Earlier in the semifinals G.K. Motors Club beat host Best Friends Hockey Club 2-0. A.G. Pradeep Kumar of Chennai remains to be the sole leader with six points, in the boys’ section. Karthikeyan and his team mate P.
