Call to protect church property

Church of South India’s Krishna-Godavari Diocese on Sunday sought protection of the church’s property on Gopal Reddy Road. Bishop of the diocese G. Dyvasirvadam, in a statement here, said that Peddu Balaramakrishna of the city took a site on lease belonging to the church on the Gopal Reddy Road for 33 years in 1986. Though he was not supposed to open a cinema theatre or wine shop there, he was violating the lease norms, he charged.
