This is to bring to your notice the poor maintenance of the airport at Hyderabad. On July 25 I travelled from New Delhi to Hyderabad by IC 839 in executive class. We are already accustomed to the late running of Indian Airlines flights, but by the time the flight arrived, it was already 11.10 p.m. and much beyond the scheduled arrival time. To my surprise, the luggage was brought to the conveyor belt after some 40 minutes, by 12.00. Along with me, some MPs like Rajamohan Reddy, Vithal Rao and Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy were also waiting for their turn to collect their luggage. At the same time, many flights reached Hyderabad like Kingfisher, Sahara and Jet Airlines and their staff was taking keen interest in guiding the passengers and collection of baggage. Our efforts to contact the Indian Airlines or airport authorities were futile as there was nobody present in the cabins. Indian Airlines should correct its attitude towards passengers.A.V.K.S.Reddy, New Delhi Change bus route
It is becoming extremely difficult to reach the residential colonies located beyond Sampoorna Theatre, Rythu Bazaar, via Subhadranagar, Saradanagar, High Court Colony, etc. In the absence of a direct bus from Kachiguda railway station, it is a nightmare for the people of these areas or for people alighting at Kachiguda to go to the above mentioned colonies, in as much as they have to alight at Sampoorna Theatre and walk the distance. Similar is the case with people coming from the areas .The existing bus no. 99 K plies between Vanasthalipuram and Kachiguda which starts and terminates at Shopping Complex which is an intermediary point on the main route. This bus runs in a semi-circular way and if it runs via Ganesh Temple, Shopping Complex and up to High Court Colony and Sai Nagar, it would be beneficial to many commuters There has been a persistent demand for extension of bus No. 99 K up to High Court Colony, Sai Nagar via Kamalanagar, Subhadra Nagar and Sarada Nagar with better frequency, as the distance is only about 1 km. The concept of creation of Greater Hyderabad by merging the surrounding Municipalities gets defeated if proper transport facilities are not afforded to the people . In order to mitigate the hardship caused to the people living in far-flung areas, I request the RTC authorities to do the needful in this regard. G.Ramakrishna, Kachiguda Health hazards
Cinema theatres in the twin cities, mostly situated at prominent traffic circles, are becoming health hazards due to lack of proper urinals on their premises, which ought to be provided by the managements. Not long ago the theatres were permitted only if the managements fulfilled conditions like provision of urinals on the theatre’s premises exclusively for use by the public. Due to commercialisation of the theatre complexes, neither managements nor the Government authorities concerned have taken much care to keep the traffic circles in good hygienic condition, resulting in the premises becoming eyesores and breeding centres for contagious diseases. In this connection, I request the Government to implement strict rules for keeping the premises of theatres and other traffic circles clean by entrusting the managements to provide basic facilities on the lines of Sulabh complexes. The maintenance charges can be included in the cinema ticket at nominal cost.
