Mehta president of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan

CHENNAI: The board of trustees and the executive committee of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan have elected Surendralal G. Mehta president of the organisation in elections held on July 22.

Mr. Mehta had been vice-president and a trustee for 36 years and was elected unanimously to the post of president, according to a press release. Murli Deora, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and B.N. Shrikrishna, current chairman of the 6th Pay Commission, were also unanimously elected vice-presidents.
