Rupee steady

MUMBAI: The rupee closed steady at 40.41/42 against the dollar on Tuesday after alternate bouts of buying and selling in tandem with equity markets. In an active trade at the interbank foreign exchange market, the domestic currency opened firm at 40.34/36 a dollar from Monday’s close of 40.41/42. Later it fell back to settle the day at 40.41/42, unchanged from overnight close. — PTI
