Kakinada: Teachers owing allegiance to the UTF took out a rally in the main streets of the town and staged dharna in front of the Collectorate here on Wednesday protesting against the inordinate delay in settling their demands. The demonstrators raised slogans demanding unified service rules to tribals and municipal teachers along with government and panchayat Raj teachers and promotional avenues and filling of all the existing teachers vacancies through the DSC. They also wanted lifting of the ban on appointments and promotions in aided schools. George Victor MLC, Sattiraju UTF president, Varma general secretary and P V Raghavulu honorary president took part in the dharna.
