Spoiling the festive spirit

Monday saw Bonalu being celebrated at Osmania University campus with a lot of pomp and fervour.

But the festive mood was run down by miscreants drinking at the ‘picnic spots’ nearby.

The drunkards teased a few students of the university and ended up getting bashed up by the campus ‘heroes’.

Moral of the story, well the festivities that take place in the university always end up with students fighting either among themselves or with the partying outsiders who want to be a part of the colourful procession.

It’s time the university authorities took up matters relating to outsiders straying onto the campus or else the campus is sure to become a big wrestling arena.
