NEW DELHI: A 12-year-old girl was run over by a mini-truck at Samaipur Badli here on Thursday. Shweta was on her way to school along with friends when the Tata-709 hit her from behind around 8 in the morning. The driver, Sanjeev Shukla, tried to flee but was caught by passers-by and handed over to the police. A case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving has been registered against him. The victim’s father, Vijay Kumar, is an auto-rickshaw driver.
