Nine injured in Assam explosion

Guwahati: Nine persons were injured when a bomb disposal squad tried to defuse a bomb near a fish market in central Assam’s Diphu town in Karbi Anglong hill district on Friday night. The bomb suspected to have been planted by the United Liberation Front of Asom was recovered by police.

Five militants of the Hmar Peoples’ Convention (Democratic) were arrested by the police in North Cachar Hills district.
They were arrested from P. Leikual village under Mahur police station. Some documents were seized from them.
