Minister to inaugurate pilgrimage jubilee

KOLLAM: Minister for Water Resources N.K. Premachandran will inaugurate the Kollam district-level platinum jubilee of the Sivagiri pilgrimage here on August 15. At a press conference here on Monday, president of the Sivagiri Dharma Sangham Trust Swamy Prakashananda and general secretary Swamy Rithambarananda said that in connection with the function, a religious harmony awareness rally and conference would be held.

The benedictory addresses at the conference will be delivered by Kollam Bishop Stanley Roman, president of the Kerala Muslim Jam-ath Federation Kadakkal Abdul Aziz Maulavi and head priest of the Panmana Ashramam Swamy Pranavananda Theerthapadar.

The keynote address will be delivered by Sivagiri Monitoring Committee member Gokulam Gopalan.

The rally will begin from Chinnakada Rest House Junction, pass through Taluk Cuthchery Junction, Chamakada, Main Road, back to Chinnakada and CSI Convention Centre, where the function will be held.

Swamy Rithambarananda said that the rally would be represented by people from all religious communities.
