TTD Chairman denies funds misappropriation
TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthhanams (TTD management has extended the last date for receipt of applications for mass marriages under ‘Kalyanamasthu’ to August 20. Couples will enter wedlock at an auspicious time on August 26 at the programme which will be conducted simultaneously in all Assembly constituency headquarters in the State. As it is a general practice not to take up any new venture during the month of ‘Ashada’, which ends on Tuesday, as it is considered inauspicious, TTD authorities are expecting applications to pour in after that day. It has been decided to provide free ‘darshan’ at Tirumala to six persons, including the bride, the groom and their parents when they plan a visit after the wedding. Meanwhile, TTD Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy on Monday categorically denied misappropriation of funds in ‘Kalyanamasthu’ as was reported in a section of media. Proposal cancelled
Just a day after laying the foundation stone for building a Chairman’s camp office at Tirumala, Mr. Reddy announced that the proposal had been cancelled in view of certain doubts expressed on need for a it.
