Air Deccan plans fare hike

NEW DELHI: Air Deccan on Tuesday said it planned to increase fares in the range of Rs. 500-1,000 and expects to break-even by early next fiscal. “Air Deccan has to hike fares to become profitable... it is in the interest of consumers and the industry as we have to be profitable to be operational,” Air Deccan Chairman and Managing Director G. R. Gopinath told reporters on the sidelines of a marketing summit here.
