Eco-friendly idols

Lord Ganesha will certainly be environment friendly this year in Khairatabad. The announcement that this time natural dyes will be used to paint the biggest Ganesha idol in Hyderabad has certainly generated interest in everyone.

The idol is now taking shape and it’s not uncommon for the passers-by to stop at Khairatabad library and have a look at the idol. But the disappointing aspect of this year’s Ganesh festival is that of 10,000 and odd idols that are to be immersed in Hussainsagar lake, only one will have the natural colours.
