NEW DELHI: The 14th NSCI-Rajiv Gandhi road races for school children from slum areas will be held here on Sunday. Over 15,000 children from government and municipal schools are expected to participate in the races to be held in two age-groups — under-14 and under-10- in the boys’ and girls’ sections. Total prize money of Rs. 80,000 will be at stake. Besides the cash prize, first 25 finishers in each four groups will get Rs. 100 as monthly scholarship till they complete their higher secondary education. The races will begin from the Ambedkar Stadium and culminate at the National Sports Club of India, opposite Pragati Maidan. — Principal Correspondent
