Panel formed to check pollution

A district level committee has been formed to prevent immersion of pollutants into the Krishna with district Collector Navin Mittal as its chairman. Following guidelines issued by the High Court against immersion of idols in rivers, the State Government has issued orders for formation of district-level committees to ensure protection of rivers from pollution.
