HYDERABAD: An estimated 9,000 couples entered wedlock in the second phase of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams’ mass marriages programme, ‘Kalyanamasthu’ at 294 centres across the State. The main event was held at Lalitha Kala Thoranam amid the pristine environs of the Public Gardens here where 108 grooms tied the sacred knot to their partners in the presence of Governor N.D. Tiwari, Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy, High Court Chief Justice G.S. Singhvi, Endowments Minister J. Ratnakar Rao, TTD Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy, Executive Officer K. V. Ramanachari and a host of VIPs. Union Minister of State for Mines T. Subbarami Reddy, Congress MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar, Congress MLA Vatti Vasanth Kumar were among few who graced the occasion.
