VISAKHAPATNAM: One-year-old Bheemalingeswara Rao from Vizianagaram district is being treated for dengue at the paediatric ward of King George Hospital here. He is in a critical condition, according to KGH Superintendent T. Ravi Raju. Four other children and an adult are also undergoing treatment. All the five patients were admitted on Tuesday and Wednesday. Two wards were set up in the hospital four days ago to treat dengue patients, he said. According to District Medical and Health Officer Bala Sundara Rao, a total of 17 suspected cases of dengue were being treated at KGH and some private hospitals in the city. Among them, the case of Bheemalingeswara Rao was confirmed. Cases were reported from Railway New Colony, MVP Colony, Narasimha Nagar, Ramakrishna Nagar and Seethammadhara in the city, Devarapalli in the rural area and G.K. Veedhi in the agency area. Patients from Srikakulam (Jalaripeta), Vizianagaram (Kothavalasa, Dekkini Veedhi, Jami mandal and Bodangi) and East Godavari (Tuni) were also being treated here. .
