New Delhi: The controversy over creation of Salem railway division acquired a new dimension on Thursday, with a delegation of DMK, Congress and PMK Ministers and MPs meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. They told him that the new division had started functioning and out of Rs. 25 crore allocated for it, Rs. 20 crore had been spent. Dr. Singh told them that he would try to find an amicable solution to the issue, DMK sources said. Kerala had opposed bifurcation of the Palakkad Division to create a new Salem division, saying that it would lead to loss of revenue to Palakkad. — PTI
