VISAKHAPATNAM: The Domestic Violence Act is a useful tool in the hands of aggrieved women to protect themselves, said the Editor of ‘Bhoomika’ magazine Kondaveeti Satyavathi. Delivering a lecture on “Women and Domestic Violence Act” organised by the Centre for Women’s Studies of Andhra University on Saturday, she said women could seek protection under the Act without approaching police or lawyers. Andhra University Vice Chancellor L. Venugopal Reddy released a book on ‘Gender audit’ written by former convener of Centre for Women’s Studies U. Vindhya. Principal of AU College of Arts and Commerce J.V. Prabhakara Rao released a report on ‘Muslim Women Entrepreneurship’ written by the Convener of the Centre for Women’s Studies B. Ratna Kumari.
