VIJAYAWADA: Congress MLAs from Hyderabad Marri Sasidhar Reddy (Sanat Nagar) and P. Janardhan Reddy (Khairatabad) on Saturday found fault with Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for preventing the United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi from visiting the State Capital last week, following the twin blasts at Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat. While returning to Hyderabad after participating in a public meeting at Guntur along with Ms. Gandhi, the two MLAs halted in the city for a while and addressed the media here. Referring to the Chief Minister’s address at the Guntur meeting in which he said that though Ms. Gandhi wanted to visit Hyderabad last week it was he who had stopped her keeping in mind security problems. “We were wondering why Ms. Gandhi had not visited Hyderabad even after receiving a fax message from us, in which we have explained the seriousness of the situation to her. Though the Chief Minister claimed that security reasons deterred him from inviting Ms. Gandhi to the city, we are sure that he did it only to cover his inefficiency,” they said.
