New Delhi: Union Minister for Chemicals, Fertilizers and Steel Ram Vilas Paswan on Tuesday backed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the India-U.S. nuclear deal. All the UPA constituents were united in supporting the government over the issue. “The government understands the importance of the deal for India’s future. That is why it wants to implement it, putting at risk its existence also,” Mr. Paswan said at a press conference. “The benefits of the deal will be realised after six-seven years. But we are risking our government for a better future,” he said. — PTI
