Vikas in last eight

BAKU: Vikas Yadav shocked Vladimir Gavrilov of Russia 29-15 to make the quarterfinals in the 48kg category at the World Cadet boxing championship here on Monday evening.

Having started against a better-rated opponent, Vikas showed his skills against the Russian before top-scoring for the day with 29 points. Vikas now meets Azerbaijan’s Elvin Mamishzade for a place in the medal round.
