Staff Reporter

The agitation is against shifting of workers from BDL Colony

Sangareddy: Communist Party of India (CPI) Ramachandrapuram mandal committee took out a rally on Wednesday demanding pattas for the poor residing in Bhagatsingh Nagar.

The activists took out the protest march from the local Inspection Bungalow to the Joint Collector’s office and submitted a memorandum. According party representative Basheer, the district administration, in connivance with realtors, was trying to oust workers of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), who had been living in the colony for many years.

He alleged that efforts were made to shift BDL workers to a colony to be built in Raisamudram ayacut area which was illegal.

The Joint Collector assured the workers that he would direct the RC Puram Tahasildar to look into the issue and report immediately.
