Top militant shot dead in Doda

JAMMU: A top Hizb-ul Mujahideen (HM) district commander Irfan Ahmed Dar was gunned down by security forces in an encounter at Behota in Marmat area of Doda district on Saturday. He was one of the most wanted militants in the region.
Joint operation
Militants hiding in the area opened fire on troops of 10 Rashtriya Rifles and Doda police conducting a joint operation in Shali Nallah near Upper Behota.
Dar was killed in the resultant encounter.
Dar was involved in a number of killings, attacks on security forces and police, lootings, and extortions in Goha Marmat, Bhaderwah and Dessa areas.
