HYDERABAD: Family members of real estate dealer Prashant Reddy, who was found dead with a bullet injury in the house of APCC president K. Keshava Rao’s son’s residence on Sunday, have demanded an impartial inquiry into the shooting incident. Mr. Reddy’s father Raghavendra Reddy alleged that efforts were being made to dilute the case and make it look as if his son had committed suicide. He gave a written complaint to the Jubilee Hills police stating that his son was killed. Mr. Venkat Rao, who brought the victim to Apollo hospital, was also admitted as he fell unconscious due to what his family members described as shock in the wake of his friend’s death. Police conducted a post-mortem on Mr. Reddy’s body. Meanwhile, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu visited Apollo Hospital and consoled the family members of Mr. Reddy. The city TDP chief K. Vijayarama Rao demanded an impartial inquiry into the firing incident. Congress MLA P. Janardhan Reddy also called on the family members of the deceased. The print and electronic media that rushed to the scene of offence had to wait for a full five hours before they were allowed inside. None of the senior police officials, who visited the place, were willing to go on record on the circumstances leading to the death of Mr. Reddy or whether it was a case of murder or suicide.
