Kakinada: The Zilla Parishad chairman Ch.S.Venu Gopalakrishna has proposed a novel scheme of providing cash incentives to the meritorious students who bring laurels to the institution at State-level competing with their counterparts of corporate schools. Under the scheme, the State first ranker in 10th class will be presented with the cash award of Rs.1 lakh and others who stands among the top 10 ranks gets Rs.5,000 less. The chairman has already showed the way to other districts, by giving a face lift to all the ZP schools spending Rs.5 crores providing ceramic tiles flooring, furniture, toilets and drinking water facility, being part of the additional revenue received from sand auctions. He also arranged study material free of cost to students for securing better results.
