‘104’ health service for interior areas

VIZIANAGARAM: Minister for Health S. Chandrasekhar has said that a toll free ‘104’ service on the lines of ‘108’ will be introduced shortly for interior areas. The Minister said that ‘Arogya Sri’ scheme was introduced to provide corporate medical assistance to poor people and it would be extended to Vizianagaram district next year.

Speaking at the ‘Thanks giving function’ of Life Line Project at Gokapeta here on Sunday, the Minister said that the State Government had been meeting 95 per cent of the expenditure of 108 service.

He said that the government would act positively to the proposal for a vector research centre in Vizianagaram.

Applauding NGOs and the district administration for making the Life Line project a success, Mr. Chandrasekhar said that the government would fill the vacant posts in health sector.
