Integrated Collectorate complex in Medak by 2009

Construction begins in May this year on 10 acres of land

HUDA grants Rs. 15 cr. for construction of complex


Sangareddy: The Integrated Collectorate complex of Medak district, which would house offices of 29 Government departments, is expected to be ready by May 2009. Construction of the complex began in the month of May this year on 10 acres of land and once completed, 75,000 square feet of office space would become available for departments which have been running in congested rented accommodation. However, departments like the DRDA which have own accommodation would continue to operate in the present offices.

Land for money

According to district revenue officer I. Prakash Kumar, the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority has granted Rs. 15 crore for construction of the complex, out of which Rs. 2.36 crore has been released.

The district administration has offered 991 acres of land to HUDA for development in return to the financial assistance.

The HUDA auctioned the land including the 224 acres of land in Tellapur. The Chief Minister laid foundation for the complex in the month of December 2006.

Novel design

The administration took utmost care in selecting the model by holding a competition for aspiring architects. Nasir Associates bagged the chance of designing the six-floor complex and won the competition among ten entries.

Das Engineering of Nallakunta has been given the contract for construction. According to sources in Roads and Building Department, initially only three floors would be constructed and the Collector’s office would begin functioning from the ground floor by January of 2008.
