NEW DELHI: The Delhi police on Tuesday submitted their report on the sting operation, carried out allegedly to frame Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya teacher Uma Khurana, to the State Education Department. It said that investigations so far had not yielded any evidence to prove that she was involved in organised flesh trade. Uma, who is now out on bail, was questioned by the Crime Branch on Tuesday. She reportedly disclosed that she was in contact with Prakash Singh, the reporter who allegedly staged the sting operation, as her acquaintance Virender Arora told her that he could help her in the artificial jewellery business. The police have now obtained a new compact disc containing the original footage of the sting operation from the television news channel, where Prakash worked when he allegedly conspired with Virender to frame Uma. In the new footage, Uma is seen telling Prakash that she had arranged for the girls, but they left as he had arrived late. Uma told the police that she had lied to Prakash about the girls as she wanted to get business orders through him. Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said on Tuesday he had not yet received the police report. “As and when we receive the report, we will evaluate it and act accordingly,” he said. Uma was dismissed from service after she was arrested.
