Manjunatha, Smitha triumph

Mysore: Manjunatha of Maharaja’s College, with a timing of 43:35.59s won the 12km race for men while Smitha of Teresian College for Women, with a timing of 24:62.62s, won the 6km race for women in the city inter-collegiate cross country races conducted by the Govt. Women’s College, Vijayanagar here on Thursday.

Basudeva Somani FGC, Mysore, won the overall team championship in the men’s section with 59 points while Teresian College for Women won the team championship title in the women’s section with 17 points.

The results: Men: 1. Manjunatha (Maharaja’s College, 43:35.59s); 2. A. Bharath Nag (Basudeva Somani FGC, 43:35.93s); 3. M. Puneeth (Basudeva Somani FGC, 45:12.32s). Women: 1. Smitha (Teresian College for Women, 24:52.02s); 2. Thippavva Sannakki (Teresian PU College, 25:50.41s); 3. T.B. Soumya (Teresian College for Women, 26:09.19s).
